President of American Guild of Organists to Offer Recital

The Carol Teti Memorial Organ Scholarship Committee at IUP will present John Walker, former resident of Indiana and current president of the American Guild of Organists, in a free organ recital on Sunday, March 15, 2015, in DiCicco Hall, Cogswell Hall, on the IUP campus.

Pittsburgh Symphony Concert Rescheduled, New Date Set

The Lively Arts is pleased to announce that the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra concert has been rescheduled. The concert will now be presented at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, in Fisher Auditorium.

Bird, Emeritus Music Professor, Releases New CD

Dr. Gary Bird, retired professor emeritus from the IUP Music Department, has released a new CD, Tuba Safari, featuring the music of composer Gregory Fritze.

Eisensmith Premieres New Arrangement of Albinoni Concerto

On May 1, 2010, Dr. Kevin Eisensmith, professor of Trumpet in the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Department of Music and president of the International Trumpet Guild, premiered a new arrangement of Tomaso Albinoni’s “Concerto, Op. 7, No. 6” for solo trumpet and concert band.

Jennings to Perform as Soloist at Payangan Festival in Bali

IUP Music Department faculty member Dr. Linda Jennings has been invited to perform the Concerto for Violin, Cello, and Javanese Gamelan by American composer Lou Harrison at the Payangan Festival at Flower Mountain in central Bali in July 2010.
