IUP has been accepted into the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program.

IUP has been selected by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security as a national Center for Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education.

IUP will present its weekly picnics in the Oak Grove from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays from June 3 through August 5, 2009. Music from different decades is featured each week.

Hawk it for Good, Indiana’s largest indoor yard sale, will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009, at the Indiana County fairgrounds. Items for sale are largely IUP student donations.

Students are named to the Dean’s Recognition List for academic excellence at the Academy of Culinary Arts when they achieve a grade-point average of 3.25 or higher. See the full list, organized by state, county, and town.

IUP professors Fredalene Bowers, Lori Lombard, and Kelli R. Paquette were honored through the Center for Teaching Excellence’s faculty recognition program.

President Tony Atwater received the Commander's Award for Public Service, one of the highest civilian service awards given by the United States Army, at IUP’s ROTC spring dining out event on April 24.

Dr. Gian Pagnucci, interim chair of the Department of English, has been selected as IUP’s 2009–2010 University Professor, an honor presented to a faculty member who demonstrates an outstanding record of teaching, research, and scholarly activity and service.

IUP recently presented the Student of the Year and Supervisor of the Year awards as part of Student Employment Appreciation Week, April 12–18, 2009.
