Joe Rocco received a $400 research award from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania University Biologists, and he was named the recipient of the NCAA Elite 88 Academic Award for Division II men’s basketball.

Dr. Jeffrey Larkin of the Department of Biology received an external award from the United States Forest Service in the amount of $359,000 for his project “Restoring Forests Using the Forest Reclamation Approach on Surface Coal Mines in Western Pennsylvania.”
