The IUP Council of Trustees will present the family of alumnus Stephen J. Mayhle, one of three Pittsburgh police officers killed in the line of duty April 4, 2009, with a resolution in his memory. The presentation will take place Friday, May 1, at 1:30 p.m. in Sutton Hall's Blue Room.

Four Indiana University of Pennsylvania students traveled to New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., to film interviews with six IUP alumni about their experiences in college and in their professional and personal lives. RoadTrip IUP, the resulting video, will be shown April 18 at 6 p.m. in Eberly Auditorium.

Dr. Tony Atwater, president of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, announced today that the university has received a $2.5 million gift from Robert E. Cook in support of the Robert E. Cook Honors College.

David Lind, WIUP-TV operations manager, has been appointed to the national Sports Video Group’s advisory board for their Sports Video Group University (SVGU) organization. Lind is also WIUP-TV operations manager and the director for the Center for videoconferencing and executive producer for IUP sports broadcasting.

Following a national search, Dr. Timothy P. Mack has been appointed as dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research and professor of Biology with tenure at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania has been selected by Diverse Issues in Higher Education as one of the top twelve doctoral universities with the largest share of female tenured professors. IUP is the only Pennsylvania institution in the top twelve ranking.
