IUP Geography and Regional Planning students and faculty members participated in the Derry/Latrobe Economic Exchange Day program in cooperation with the Derry and Latrobe school districts, the Latrobe Chamber of Commerce, the Westmoreland County Planning Department, and the Smart Growth Partnership of Westmoreland County.

Students in IUP’s Geography and Regional Planning programs presented work at the university’s Undergraduate Scholars Conference in the Hadley Union Building on April 7, 2009.

Elizabeth Thomas, a 2008 graduate of Northern Cambria High School, was awarded the inaugural Dan and Diane Griffith Scholarship for the 2008–2009 academic year.
