John Kamau, a student of Jeff Larkin, was one of two students selected to represent IUP and its Department of Biology at the 2013 Undergraduate Research at the Capitol annual state symposium in Harrisburg.

N. Bharathan of the Biology Department will conduct a Biotechnology Summer Camp for students in grades 10–12 during Summer 2013. The goal is to motivate students to study biology and to acquaint them with modern research techniques.
