Gig with a Superstar: Doc Severinsen Wows the Crowd at IUP, and Music Students Are Part of the Show

Legendary trumpeter Doc Severinsen opened the 2014–15 Lively Arts Ovations season on Tuesday, September 16, with an incredible show he invited students to be part of.

Cogswell Hall Performance Area Named for DiCicco

A gift from current professor Jack Stamp, made in memory of his parents and grandfather, has been added to others to name an area of IUP's music facility in memory of a beloved faculty member.

IUP Trumpet Studio Attends National Trumpet Competition

On March 15–18, 2012, David Ferguson, assistant dean of the College of Fine Arts; Kevin Eisensmith, professor of Trumpet; and 29 members of the IUP Trumpet Studio attended the National Trumpet Competition in Fairfax, Va.

Student Youngs Wins Scholarship to Attend International Trumpet Guild Conference

Marisa Youngs, a junior Music Education major from Cochranton, Pa., has been awarded a scholarship to attend the 2012 International Trumpet Guild conference in Columbus, Ga., on May 22–26, 2012.

IUP Faculty Brass Quintet to Present Recital

The HoodleBug Brass will present their Spring 2012 recital on Tuesday, March 20, beginning at 8:00 p.m. in Room 121 of the Cogswell Music Building. This program is free and open to the general public.

Music Student Organizations Host Fundraiser for Music Education Programs in Haiti

On March 8–9, 2012, Sigma Alpha Iota, Phi Mu Alpha, Delta Omicron, and the Pennsylvania Colleagiate Music Educators Association will host the Cogswell Penny Wars in the lobby of Cogswell Hall to raise money to rebuild music programs in Haiti.
