Object of Our Affection: IUP History to Be Shared in University Museum Exhibit

An exhibit of memorabilia, paintings, photographs, and scrapbooks from 1875 to the current decade will be on display at the University Museum, September 1–October 27, with a public reception on September 8 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Season Announced for 2012–2013 Ovations! Series

The Lively Arts at IUP announced the majority of what it plans to present during the 2012–2013 Ovations! series season, including two Broadway hits, a Broadway-related family event, contemporary dance, a string quartet, jazz, Latin folk, a play, and more.

ArtsPath Residency Assists At-Risk Youth in Butler County

ArtsPath visual artist and painter Bernie Wilke recently completed a residency at the Mars Home for Youth in Mars, Pa., where the youth created a mural, to be unveiled at the free MHY Historical Tour and Open House on October 1, 2011.

2010 Undergraduate Juried Exhibition

The Undergraduate Juried Exhibition opens Thursday, April 1, 2010, in Kipp Gallery, located in Sprowls Hall. The exhibit features works by undergraduate students in the Department of Art.

IUP Jazz Ensembles in Concert with Chris Vadala

The Department of Music will present the IUP Jazz Ensemble and the IUP Jazz Band, under the direction of Keith Young and Nathan Santos, in a concert on Saturday, April 10, 2010.

Orchestra Program Is Unique and Impressive

The Lively Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania will present the Pittsburgh Symphony Chamber Orchestra and a variety of IUP faculty members and students performing in a concert that is both unique and impressive. The concert will be presented on Friday, March 26, 2010, at 8:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium of IUP’s Performing Arts Center.

Music Department Presents Benefit Concert for Music Programs in Haiti

The string program of the IUP Music Department will present a concert on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, to benefit music education programs in the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti. The concert will begin at 8:00 p.m. in Gorell Rectial Hall, located on the 2nd floor of IUP's John Sutton Hall. In addition to various faculty and ensembles, the concert will feature Fabienne Fanord, a Haitian cellest and music educator for Port au Prince, currently a visiting scholar this semester at IUP (pictured at right). The Music Department’s string program will present a concert on March 30, 2010, to benefit music education programs in the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti. In addition to various faculty and ensembles, the concert will feature Fabienne Fanord, a Haitian cellist and music educator for Port au Prince, currently a visiting scholar at IUP.

Festival of Women Composers Presents Finale Concert

Chamber Orchestra Returns for Concert on March 26

The Lively Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania will present the Pittsburgh Symphony Chamber Orchestra as part of its 2009–2010 Performance Plus season. The program, conducted by Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s concertmaster Andrés Cárdenes, will be presented on Friday, March 26, 2010, at 8:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium of IUP’s Performing Arts Center.
