Object of Our Affection: IUP History to Be Shared in University Museum Exhibit

An exhibit of memorabilia, paintings, photographs, and scrapbooks from 1875 to the current decade will be on display at the University Museum, September 1–October 27, with a public reception on September 8 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Season Announced for 2012–2013 Ovations! Series

The Lively Arts at IUP announced the majority of what it plans to present during the 2012–2013 Ovations! series season, including two Broadway hits, a Broadway-related family event, contemporary dance, a string quartet, jazz, Latin folk, a play, and more.

ArtsPath Residency Assists At-Risk Youth in Butler County

ArtsPath visual artist and painter Bernie Wilke recently completed a residency at the Mars Home for Youth in Mars, Pa., where the youth created a mural, to be unveiled at the free MHY Historical Tour and Open House on October 1, 2011.

IUP Sends Reps to View Progress of “Spooky Action” World Premiere

On Thursday, March 19, four representatives from IUP attended an open studio in Philadelphia to see Miro Dance Theater and their progress on “Spooky Action.” The open studio was held on the campus of Girard College, where Miro serves as dance company in residence.

Keystone Chamber Winds Features Grammy-Winning Composer

The Lively Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania will present Keystone Chamber Winds in a Sound Choices series event. The concert, produced by the IUP Department of Music, will be performed on Wednesday, April 1, at 8:00 p.m. in Gorell Hall, located on the second floor of Sutton Hall.

Dean Hood Nominated for Male Civic Leader Award

Michael Hood, dean of the College of Fine Arts, has been nominated by Indiana Rotary for the 2009 Male Civic Leader of the Year Award.

Kipp Gallery to Open Exhibit by Lee Renninger

The IUP Art Department’s Kipp Gallery will open an exhibit March 10 of works by artist Lee Renninger, titled “Slipstich.”
