Coles to Present on Teaching about Space at Forty-Second Lunar and Planetary Science Conference

Dr. Kenneth Coles of the Geoscience Department will share his experience teaching his “Human Exploration of Space” course at one of the largest annual meetings of planetary scientists, which will take place in Texas, March 7-11, 2011.

Free Planetarium Show about Messenger Mission to Mercury

The upcoming Messenger spacecraft mission at Mercury will be the topic of a planetarium show on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the IUP Planetarium.

Hovan Coauthors Journal Article on Ancient Climate

Dr. Steve Hovan, Department of Geoscience, and colleagues recently published an article showing evidence of orbital-scale forcing of climate records found in the ancient sediments of the Pacific Ocean around 55 million years ago.

Poage Completes Sixth Field Season in Antarctica

Dr. Michael Poage, of the Department of Geoscience, recently returned from his sixth field season in Antarctica conducting research on soils in the Dry Valleys region.
