Music Department to Receive Pipe Organ from American Guild of Organists

The Department of Music will add a notable instrument this spring to its already vast keyboard collection. In May 2014, the department will make way amid its 93 Steinway pianos for the Pogorzelski-Yankee Memorial Organ, valued at $400,000.

IUP Brass Day to Include Public Concerts

The Department of Music will host a Brass Day on Saturday, March 5, 2011, which will feature guest soloist Demondrae Thurman and the HoodleBug Brass, IUP's faculty brass quintet.

Two World Premieres Planned for IUP Concert

The IUP Wind Ensemble, Chamber Singers, and University Chorale will premiere a new work by African American composer Stephen Michael Newby during a concert on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at 8:00 p.m.

“Inspired” Exhibit Features Art Works from Area High Schools

Currently showing in Kipp Gallery, “Inspired” features art works by regional high school teachers and their students. The exhibition runs through March 3, 2011.

Chopin Bicentennial Includes Art Exhibit and Recital

An exhibition of posters designed by faculty and students from Poland will open in Kipp Gallery on Tuesday, March 1, 2010. A reception for the exhibit will follow a special Chopin music program on Saturday, March 19.

Local Student to Perform in Evidence Dance Performance

Local student Jamie Latson, age seven, will join the Evidence Dance Company when they perform “Two Year-Old Gentleman” on Wednesday evening, February 23, 2011, in Fisher Auditorium.

Touring Dance Company, Evidence, to Perform in Fisher Auditorium

The Lively Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania will present the international touring troupe Evidence: A Dance Company, as part of the Performance Plus series in Fisher Auditorium, on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at 8:00 p.m.

Lively Arts Announces Upcoming Educational Outreach

Continuing the twenty-year history of outreach to our students and area schools, the Lively Arts at IUP has and will offer IUP students, local school students, and the general community this semester a variety of opportunities to interact with touring professional artists.

“The Crucible” Is Next Theater-by-the-Grove Production

Next up in Theater-by-the-Grove’s 2010–2011 season at Indiana University of Pennsylvania will be the powerful drama The Crucible. Written by Arthur Miller, performances are slated for February 17–19 and 23–26, 2011.

World-renowned soprano Adrienne Danrich will perform An Evening in the Harlem Renaissance on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. in Gorell Recital Hall, John Sutton Hall.
