Community Service Recognized with Second Year on Honor Roll

President Atwater Condition Update: February 26

The surgeon for Dr. Tony Atwater, IUP president, reported on February 26, 2010, that Atwater showed no evidence of prostate cancer in recent medical tests.

Pennsylvania Coalition Receives Federal Funding for Statewide Broadband Network

The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education is a lead group in a Pennsylvania coalition that has been awarded nearly $100 million in federal funds to develop a statewide broadband network.

Bahgat Selected for National Defense University Faculty

Political Science professor Gawdat Bahgat has been selected for a faculty position in the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C. He will be on leave from IUP for two years to serve in this role.

Proposals Welcomed for Gender, Sexuality Symposium

IUP will hold its first symposium on gender and sexuality April 9, 2010, in IUP’s Hadley Union Building. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to submit proposals for presentations by February 15.
