Steve Hovan, Department of Geosciences, presented his research at the 2010 Ocean Sciences Meeting in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Hovan and his colleagues at the University of California–Santa Cruz have been investigating the paleoclimate and paleoceanographic conditions of our planet through the use of deep sea sediments.

On Wednesday evening, February 24, 2010, at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Ken Coles, Department of Geosciences, will present a planetarium show entitled “New Eyes: Gamma-ray and X-ray Astronomy.” The show takes place in the IUP Planetarium and will consider what these energetic forms of light are, how they are observed, and what they show us about objects in the sky.
