A Star on the Map: Regional Planning Undergraduate Program Earns National Accreditation

The Regional Planning undergraduate program has earned national accreditation from the Planning Accreditation Board, joining only 13 other undergraduate programs in the United States to be nationally accredited.

Beaver Run Water Quality Project Renewed for Second Year

The project will sample and monitor reservoir water quality near Marcellus shale well pad sites for a second year, thanks to renewal of a $77,000 contract with the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County in June. The project, led by Professor Brian Okey and Professor Nathan McElroy, taps the expertise of faculty and students from the Departments of Geography and Regional Planning, Geosciences, and Chemistry.

Geography Students Attend Local Government Academy Internship Fair

Undergraduate and graduate students from the Department of Geography and Regional Planning attended the Local Government Academy Internship Fair on February 17, 2010, at Carnegie Mellon University.
