The IUP Department of Music will present the IUP Chorus in a concert at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010, in Zion Lutheran Church, located on the corner of Sixth and Church streets in Indiana. Tickets are available in advance at the Hadley Union Building and will be sold at the door starting at 6:15 p.m.

As part of the IUP Film Series—Short Shots and Fresh Frames—the film In Service will be presented on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, in McVitty Auditorium, Sprowls Hall, at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. The filmmaker, Ralph Vituccio, will be present to discuss the film. Admission is free.

The ceramics studio of the IUP Department of Art will once again present its Empty Bowls event to benefit the Indiana County food bank. This event takes place Tuesday, March 2, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the University Square Complex.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Theater-by-the-Grove and Music Theater will jointly present the musical comedy Sweet Charity in Fisher Auditorium of IUP’s Performing Arts Center, Fisher Auditorium. Performances will be held Thursday, February 25, 2010, through Saturday, February 27, at 8:00 p.m. A matinee is also scheduled for Sunday, February 28, at 2:00 p.m.

Jack Stamp, chairperson of the IUP Department of Music and director of band studies, is celebrating his twentieth year of teaching at IUP by inviting several of his former students to return to campus and guest conduct the IUP Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band in an evening of band classics. The concert, titled “Twenty Years at IUP: A Celebration of Alumni Conductors,” will be presented February 13, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium of the IUP Performing Arts Center.
