Geoscience professor Steve Hovan coauthored a presentation entitled “Sediments on the Line Islands Ridge Provides a Suitable Archive for Paleoceanographic Research” at the American Geophysical Union’s fall 2012 meeting.

The Energy Sustainability Team, comprising faculty from the Departments of Geoscience, Geography and Safety Sciences, has received Strategic Initiatives funding from President Michael Driscoll for "Engaging and Educating Shale Gas Partners: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Understanding our Shale Gas Industry."

W. David Watkins recently presented the results of his research at the Northern Snake River Range at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America, held November 4–7 in Charlotte, NC.
