IUP Announces New Approach to Developmental Math Experience

Beginning in fall 2014, the departments of Developmental Studies and Mathematics will implement adaptive computer software called Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces in all developmental math courses.

Lattanzio Manuscript on Partition Types Accepted for Publication

Dr. John Lattanzio of the Mathematics Department had his manuscript, “Partition Types,” accepted for publication in the Journal of Combinatorial Mathematics and Combinatorial Computing.

Lattanzio and Zheng to Present on Matrix Graphs and Completely Independent Critical Cliques

Mathematics professor John Lattanzio and graduate student Quan Zheng will present “Matrix Graphs and Completely Independent Critical Cliques,” parts I and II, on Thursday, December 9, and Friday December 10, 2010.

Metz Publishes on Teaching Probability and Statistics

Dr. Mary Lou Metz, a faculty member in the Mathematics Department, recently published an article on using GAISE and NCTM standards as frameworks for teaching probability and statistics to pre-service elementary and middle school mathematics teachers.
