The School of Graduate Studies and Research has announced that Dr. Andrew Feng Zhou, Department of Physics, received an external funding award in the amount of $15,000 from the Center for Occupational Research and Development, Inc. for his project "OP-TEC: The National Center for Optics and Photonics Education."

The National Science Foundation is holding its annual Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) program competition. Due to limits on the number of proposals allowed, IUP is holding an internal competition for interested faculty and staff members.

Robert Wilson, director of the Institute for Mine Mapping, Archival Procedures and Safety, received an external funding award in the amount of $62,992 from the Office of Surface Mining for his project, “Mine Map Web Digitizing.”

The Pennsylvania Department of Health has announced that IUP is potentially eligible to receive $9,268 in health research funding as a result of the Tobacco Settlement Act. However, IUP is limited to submitting only one application.
