New Source for Regional and Statewide Funding

The School of Graduate Studies and Research announces access for IUP faculty and staff to Pennsylvania Foundations Online, an online database of statewide and regional funding opportunities that you may not find in SPINPlus or the Grants Resource Center.

Shellenbarger Awarded Funds for Nursing Ph.D. Program

Dr. Teresa Shellenbarger, Department of Nursing and Allied Health Professions, received an external funding award in the amount of $13,853 from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education for her project, “Ph.D. Pathway in Nursing.”

Guidelines and submission instructions for the 2010–2011 Faculty Professional Development Council (FPDC) grants are now available. The deadline to submit proposals is December 17, 2010.

Zhou Receives Funds for Optics Education

The School of Graduate Studies and Research has announced that Dr. Andrew Feng Zhou, Department of Physics, received an external funding award in the amount of $15,000 from the Center for Occupational Research and Development, Inc. for his project "OP-TEC: The National Center for Optics and Photonics Education."

NSF Major Research Instrumentation Grant Opportunity

The National Science Foundation is holding its annual Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) program competition. Due to limits on the number of proposals allowed, IUP is holding an internal competition for interested faculty and staff members.

Wilson Awarded Funds for Mine Mapping

Robert Wilson, director of the Institute for Mine Mapping, Archival Procedures and Safety, received an external funding award in the amount of $62,992 from the Office of Surface Mining for his project, “Mine Map Web Digitizing.”

Knerr Awarded Arts in Education Grant

Hank Knerr, director of ArtsPath, received an external funding award in the amount of $55,000 from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts for his project, “Arts in Education Partnership.”

Pa. Dept. of Health Funds Available

The Pennsylvania Department of Health has announced that IUP is potentially eligible to receive $9,268 in health research funding as a result of the Tobacco Settlement Act. However, IUP is limited to submitting only one application.
