Cast and Musicians of Memphis Offer Up Q&A

As its final educational outreach event for the 2014–15 Ovations! series, the Lively Arts will present two Q&A sessions with cast members and musicians from the Broadway hit “Memphis the Musical” on Monday, May 4.

Broadway Musical is a Winner

Broadway’s award-winning hit “Memphis the Musical” comes to IUP’s Performing Arts Center on Monday, May 4, 2015, at 8:00 p.m. Since opening in 2010, it has received some of theater’s highest honors.

Award-Winning Broadway Musical is Ovations! Season Finale

The Lively Arts at IUP will present Broadway’s award-winning “Memphis, the Musical.” Featuring the traveling tour direct from Broadway, the show will be presented on Monday, May 4, at 8:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium of IUP’s Performing Arts Center.

HoodleBug Brass Tour Central Pa.

The HoodleBug Brass, the IUP Department of Music faculty brass quintet comprised of Dr. Kevin Eisensmith, Dr. David Ferguson, Dr. Jack Scandrett, Dr. Christian Dickinson, and Dr. Zach Collins, toured the York area on November 22-24, 2009.

Stamp to Conduct Music Workshops in UK

Dr. Jack Stamp, 2008–2009 University Professor and chair of the IUP Department of Music, was recently invited to present conducting workshops at Great Britain’s Royal Military School of Music. He will present sessions for their student bandmasters and many of the conductors in the field starting November 20, 2009.

Music Alumnus Wengert On Tour with Olympic Torch

Chris Wengert, of “drumset and bucket” fame, is on tour with a Coca-Cola-sponsored musical group with the Olympic Torch as it makes its way all over Canada in preparation for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

IUP Chorus Featured at Yale University Choral Conference

The fifty-voice IUP Chorus, directed by James Dearing, will be featured at the National Collegiate Choral Conference this Thursday night, November 5, 2009, at Yale University. Only nine out of forty-one college/university choral ensembles were accepted nationwide.
