The School of Graduate Studies and Research recently awarded a total of $8,994 to twelve graduate students who submitted research grant proposals.

Jane Gardner, Eberly College of Business and Information Technology, received an external award in the amount of $384,204 for her project, “WeDnetPA Basic Skills and Information Technology.”

Daniel Lee, Department of Criminology, and George Bieger, Department of Professional Studies, received a external award from the U.S. Department of Justice in the amount of $1,100,000 for their project, “Correctional Education Clearinghouse and Education Program.”

Hank Knerr, College of Fine Arts, received an external award from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts in the amount of $45,000 for his project, “Arts in Education Partnership.”

All faculty members engaged in covered research must complete and sign the PASSHE Technology Transfer and Commercialization Faculty Intellectual Property Agreement prior to the initiation of the research.

Lisa Brochetti, Center for Career and Technical Personnel Preparation, received an external award from the Indiana County Department of Human Services in the amount of $21,374 for her project, ”HSDF New Choices/New Options.”

Ann Sesti, Center for Health and Well-Being, received an external award from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board in the amount of $10,722 for her project “PLCB - Alcohol-Tobacco-Other Drugs Program Improvement.”

Dr. Carmy Carranza, Department of Developmental Studies, received two external awards from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education in the amount of $35,863 for the project “Act 101: 2009–2010 PASSHE Replacement Fund—Punxsutawney Campus,” and $75,446 for the project “Act 101: 2009–2010 PASSHE Replacement Fund—Main Campus.”

Dr. Beverly Chiarulli, Department of Anthropology, received an external award from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in the amount of $2,668 for the project entitled “PennDOT Curation: Task 13.”

Dr. Benjamin Ford, Department of Anthropology, received an external award from the Oil Region Alliance of Business, Industry, and Tourism in the amount of $21,999 for his project, “Survey of Historic Resources in Northeast Venango County, PA.”
