On display on the first floor of the IUP Libraries is a facsimile of the Tabula Rogeriana, a map of the known world created by Moroccan cartographer Al-Idrisi (circa 1100–1166) for King Roger II of Sicily in 1154.

The IUP Libraries encourages parents and students alike to stop by and view our Family Weekend window display through November 4. The display features Norm, the Crimson Hawk mascot, along with issues of IUP Magazine, yearbooks, and other IUP memorabilia.

On Thursday, October 27, 2011, IUP Libraries will feature Dr. Chris Janicak, Department of Safety Sciences, speaking about his new book, Safety Metrics: Tools and Techniques for Measuring Safety Performance, as part of the Breakfast-and-a-Book series.

On October 2, 2011, Dr. Kelly Heider, education librarian at the IUP Libraries, presented a workshop at the Pennsylvania Library Association’s annual conference titled “Service Learning at the University Library.”
