Implementing screening and brief interventions that address tobacco and alcohol use in a university or health-care setting helps students reduce their high-risk behaviors. This informative training session on Saturday, November 7, 2009, will provide knowledge and practical application of proven techniques in helping to prevent high-risk behaviors in students.

For the Spring 2010 semester, section 048 of ENGL 101, College Writing (four credits), is linked with the one-credit Counseling Center course CNSD 150, Life Skills: Improving Your Social and Emotional Intelligence.

New medicines have been added to the IUP Health Service Self Care Cold Clinic (SCCC), located in the Center for Health and Well-Being. The SCCC is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. inside the Health Service waiting room.

Fourteen of the more than 47,000 quilt panels that make up the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be displayed at IUP on October 20–22, 2009, in the HUB Ohio Room. Each of the colorful panels making up the quilt memorializes the life of a person lost to AIDS.
