Dr. Anastasia Antonacos, professor of Piano, recently was awarded an IUP Senate Award to cover travel expenses to the June 2011 World Piano Conference in Novi Sad, Serbia.

A saxophone quartet of IUP students performed at the thirty-fourth annual International Saxophone Symposium on January 7-8, 2011.

One hundred sixty IUP alumni raised their voices in song as a memorial tribute to James Dearing, long-time director of Choral Activities, on January 16, 2011.

The IUP String Project, a community music education outreach program for children ages five to eighteen in Indiana and the surrounding area, is accepting applications for private lesson instruction on violin, viola, cello, and bass. Applications are due January 24, 2011, and lessons will begin on January 31.

Klavier Records of Boca Raton, Fla., has commercially released a compact disc of the IUP Wind Ensemble titled Radiant Joy.

TrumpetFest, an annual festival presented by the Department of Music, is scheduled for February 3-6, 2011, and will feature performances by IUP trumpet students and faculty members along with a lecture and performance by guest artist Dr. J.C. Dobrzelewski.

Professor of Trombone Christian Dickinson, Department of Music, will perform a joint recital with trombonist Harry Watters at George Mason University on January 31, 2011.
