Grammy-Winning Pianist to Present Outreach

The Lively Arts and IUP Libraries present Grammy-winning pianist, composer, and arranger Pablo Ziegler in a special question-and-answer demonstration event on Wednesday, March 25, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. in Cogswell Hall’s Orendorff Music Library.

Latin Grammy Winner Leads South American Quartet

The Lively Arts at IUP will host the Pablo Ziegler Quartet for New Tango for a one-night-only performance infused with Latin jazz on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 8:00 p.m. in Gorell Recital Hall.

Pittsburgh Symphony Concert Rescheduled, New Date Set

The Lively Arts is pleased to announce that the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra concert has been rescheduled. The concert will now be presented at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, in Fisher Auditorium.

Antonacos to Travel to World Piano Conference in Serbia

Dr. Anastasia Antonacos, professor of Piano, recently was awarded an IUP Senate Award to cover travel expenses to the June 2011 World Piano Conference in Novi Sad, Serbia.

One hundred sixty IUP alumni raised their voices in song as a memorial tribute to James Dearing, long-time director of Choral Activities, on January 16, 2011.

IUP String Project Accepting Applications for Spring Semester

The IUP String Project, a community music education outreach program for children ages five to eighteen in Indiana and the surrounding area, is accepting applications for private lesson instruction on violin, viola, cello, and bass. Applications are due January 24, 2011, and lessons will begin on January 31.

IUP Trumpet Studio Presents TrumpetFest 2011

TrumpetFest, an annual festival presented by the Department of Music, is scheduled for February 3-6, 2011, and will feature performances by IUP trumpet students and faculty members along with a lecture and performance by guest artist Dr. J.C. Dobrzelewski.
