Rusted Root and Coastal Remedy Headlining at the Northern Appalachian Folk Festival, Sept. 11–12

The third annual Northern Appalachian Folk Festival will be held in downtown Indiana in September with headlining acts that include Rusted Root and Coastal Remedy, plus more live music, workshops, visual art, food vendors, children’s activities, storytelling, dance, and a car show.

Seeds Club President McCormick Featured as Regional Newsmaker

Gretchen McCormick was featured in Trib Live as a regional newsmaker. A biology student, McCormick was recently awarded the IUP Women’s Senior Leadership Award for her role as the head of the SEEDS club and the coordinator of the first annual Community Seed Swap at IUP.

Power of One Voice: A 50-Year Perspective on the Life of Rachel Carson

The Center for Northern Appalachian Studies is sponsoring the next film in the 2015 Center for Community Growth film series, “The Power Of One Voice,” on March 27. The screening will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the filmmaker.

Second Annual Folk Festival Coming to Indiana

The Northern Appalachian Folk Festival is coming back to downtown Indiana on September 4, 5, and 6, 2014, with venders, artists, workshops, theater, film, and 17 bands performing on Philadelphia Street, at the Brown Hotel, and at the Artists Hand Gallery, including Joe Gruschecky and the Houserockers.
