Jozefowicz and Alumni Publish Study of Unemployment and Crime in Pennsylvania

“A Dynamic Panel Data Study of the Unemployment-Crime Relationship: The Case of Pennsylvania,” co-authored by applied mathematics alumna Sarah Frederick (’15), economics alumnus Zackary Nelson (’14), and professor James Jozefowicz, has been published in Economics Bulletin.

Vick Publishes on Wage Gap Facing Younger Veterans

Brandon Vick (Department of Economics) will publish research titled “Gender, Race & the Veteran Wage Gap” in a forthcoming issue of Social Science Research. Gabrielle Fontanella, an IUP Economics and Sociology graduate, co-authored the paper.

Jeffords and Gellers Provide Practical Guidance on the Implementation and Efficacy of Constitutional Environmental Rights

Christopher Jeffords, IUP Economics professor, and Josh Gellers, professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of North Florida, expand upon their recent contribution to the United Nations Report on Implementing Environmental Rights by providing a summary of recent quantitative and qualitative research on constitutional environmental rights.

At the 2016 Pennsylvania Economic Association (PEA) Conference, held June 2–4 at Slippery Rock University, economics graduate Derek Hanely won an award for his paper titled “The Effects of the Marcellus Shale Gas Boom in Pennsylvania on U.S. Natural Gas Prices.”
