Chrispell Publishes on Mathematical Models for Agriculture and Water Use

John Chrispell of the Mathematics Department co-authored the paper "Development and Use of Mathematical Models and Software Frameworks for Integrated Analysis of Agricultural Systems and Associated Water Use Impacts," which was published in the American Institute of Mathematical Sciences journal AIMS Agriculture and Food.

Mathematics Students Receive Honorable Mention in COMAP Mathematical Contest in Modeling

All four teams of mathematics students who participated in the Consortium for Mathematics and Its Applications (COMAP) Mathematical Contest in Modeling received Honorable Mention for their mathematical models, placing them in the top 44% of all participating teams in the international competition.

Donley and Students to Present on Image Processing Algorithms for Leaf Area Analysis

Ed Donley of the Mathematics Department, along with students Anthony Filiziani, Tom Gresavage, and Sam Grieggs, will present their research on Monday, April 25, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Stright Hall, room 226.

Metz Presents at National Conference

Mary Lou Metz, Associate Professor of Mathematics, presented a session at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Annual Conference in San Francisco. The session was titled "The Mathematics Teaching Practices as a Framework for Working with Pre-Service Teacher."

Cao to Chair Short Course Committee of Statistics Division of American Society for Quality

Yongtao Cao of the Mathematics Department has been selected to chair the short course committee of the statistics division of the American Society for Quality. Cao was also selected to the chair the short course committee for the Fall Technical Conference 2016.

Bouchat Publishes on Multigraded Betti Numbers of Path Ideals Related to Directed Graph Trees

Rachelle Bouchat of the Mathematics Department and her collaborator, Tricia Muldoon of Armstrong State University, had their paper accepted for publication in the Journal of Algebra, Combinatorics, Discrete Structures, and Applications.
