All minority freshmen are invited to Directions, an educationally-based, interactive, orientation program that is designed to facilitate the academic success of entering minority and underrepresented students. The theme for the event is “It’s a New Day: Celebrating Cultural Diversity and Student’s Success.”
This year’s program takes place on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at 5:00 p.m. in the Crimson Event Center. Participants become familiar with the strategies, resources, and people who can provide support and/or assistance when needed.
Students can hear from and interact closely with IUP faculty, staff, administrators, and student leaders; enjoy great food and a special guest; and grasp concepts that help to put them in the right “direction” for experiencing academic success and for becoming more empowered and informed learners.
