The psychology practicum committee is accepting applications for Summer and Fall 2010 internships. Junior and senior (during the currently registered semester) Psychology majors having a minimum GPA of 2.0 and at least 12 credits in Psychology may get hands-on experience in psychology, and course credit, by completing an internship, (also called practicum), at a variety of agencies located in Indiana and throughout Pennsylvania.
Doing a practicum provides an interesting alternative learning experience and may significantly increase your employment opportunities after graduation, as well as your chances of being accepted into a graduate program. Research practicum opportunities are also available, but must be directed by a faculty member in the department.
In order to receive course credit for your work, you must be accepted as an intern by the Practicum Committee following the completion of the application process. The application process involves several steps and takes about one month to complete, so get started on this NOW.
Applications are available on the Psychology Department website.
