IUP Student Chosen for STARS College

Posted on 4/5/2017 7:33:01 PM

Autumn Dietrich, sophomore sociology major, was chosen to participate in the STARS College in Rhode Island in summer 2017. STARS College is a three-day pre-conference of the Association of College and University Residence Halls, International. Autumn was also chosen as president of the year by the Central Atlantic Affiliate for College and University Residence Halls last fall.

STARS College is a three-day experience for undergraduate students interested in learning about the student affairs and campus housing professions. STARS College offers large group presentations, interactive activities, role play situations, self-evaluation, and small mentoring groups to educate participants about what a career in campus housing offers.

The application process is highly competitive, with only 40–65 students from across the U.S. being chosen each year.

Autumn serves as the president of the IUP Residence Hall Association, a member of the National Residence Hall Honorary, and a community assistant for the Honors Community. We in the Office of Housing, Residential Living, and Dining are very happy for her and are looking forward to her continued contributions.
