IUP President Michael A. Driscoll updated the university on a wide range of topics Wednesday at his mid-semester spring briefing.
During the 75-minute talk, Driscoll delivered good news from many areas of the university, and he connected these accomplishments to the goals of the IUP Strategic Plan. He closed his speech with an update on the upcoming State System review of its institutions—and how it could affect IUP.
“I’m not worried,” Driscoll said. “IUP is in a strong position. We’re in a good place and people know we’re doing things the correct way.”
Driscoll praised the continued efforts to further diversity and inclusion in all aspects of campus life.
“IUP remains proud to be a place that is home to people of many ethnicities, faith traditions, sexual orientations, and gender identities,” he said. “Our experiences are immeasurably enriched as we celebrate and share our diversity. All who have come to IUP to learn, grow, and serve together are welcome here. I thank you for your continued commitment to inclusion and to keeping IUP a diverse and welcoming community.”
Driscoll also thanked members of the IUP community for their hard work.
“I continue to be thankful for a community that rises to the challenge of making the IUP Way how we live and support each other.”
