The Haven Project will host the webinar “All Communities Are
NOT Created Equal: Advancing Health Equity Goals to Enhance Sexual and Domestic
Violence Prevention Efforts” on Thursday, June 26, 2014. This webinar is a
part of the 2014 PreventConnect Web conference series.
What’s health equity got to
do with it? This Web conference will provide a space for a closer look at
leveraging sexual and domestic violence prevention work to promote health
equity. Based in the framework presented in the Centers for Disease Control’s recent publication, A
Practitioner’s Guide for Advancing Health Equity: Community Strategies for
Preventing Chronic Disease, this Web conference will delve into
disproportionate outcomes based on race, class, sexual orientation, and ability
within the context of sexual and domestic violence. Guests will explore
opportunities to better address equity issues and support health equity as a
part of prevention initiatives.
