David Wachob and Robert Alman, Department of Health and
Physical Education, published an article titled “Parental
Influence on the Cardiovascular Health and Body Composition of Homeschool
Children” in the International Journal of Child and Adolescent Health.
The article presented findings from their recent study examining the health status of homeschooling families. Both the parents and the children were tested
to determine cardiovascular health (VO2 Max) and body composition (BMI and body
fat %). This study found that the parents were a significant variable
when determining influential factors on homeschooling children’s cardiovascular
health and body composition.
