The IUP Veterans Organization will present “Veterans’ Issues on College Campuses” on Wednesday, April 9, from 12:20–1:10 p.m. in Uhler Hall, room 111.
IUP Veterans Organization serves veterans of every U.S. military branch and any
honorary members. This organization aims to bring veterans together, inform
veterans of various benefits available to them, and help ease the transition
from military life to life on campus. There are over 600 student-veterans on
the IUP campus, and the number is growing.
A panel of student-veterans will meet
with faculty and graduate students to talk about their college experiences. We will have a
unique and personal opportunity to hear about specific student-veteran needs,
exchange ideas, and learn from each other. Student-veterans welcome the
chance to tell their story, to raise important issues, and to enter into a
dialogue that goes beyond the comment “I
want to thank you for your service.”
