Last year, 510 faculty and staff, through the University Family Drive, contributed close to
$150,000 in support of 215 different departments and programs at IUP. That’s impact!
It shows what
can be achieved when all who work at the university come together as a community. While
all IUP students benefit from donor generosity in the form of better
technology, facilities, and a lovely campus, it’s likely that you may know one or
two that have benefited specifically from a scholarship or program fund
allocation. You may direct your gift to any of several hundred accounts, and
your generosity can directly impact students.
For example, two students were awarded scholarships from the
IUP APSCUF Scholarship Endowment fund this year, each in the
amount of $1,355—a sizable increase over last year’s two $1,000 awards. Faculty and staff members who lend their support to this endowment enable the principle to grow,
and as such, are factors in enabling the award’s impact to increase. To give to this fund, refer to fund 0391 on your payroll deduction form or on the online giving form.
Have you been inside Stapleton Library lately? With its new
24/5 schedule, it is one of the hot spots on campus where you can find
classroom discussions being continued over a cup of coffee. The Fund for the
IUP Library is helping to make this increased student engagement possible. The fund provides direct support to students,
ranging from finals week refreshments to gift cards for video and bibliography
contests. The fund helped to cover the costs of framing a donated painting and
the transcription of oral history tapes for Special Collections, too. The
online and on-campus services of the IUP Libraries can touch each student
enrolled at IUP. To join other faculty and staff that give to this fund, please
reference fund 4710 when making your gift.
