The Department of Food and Nutrition welcomes Idamarie Laquatra as its newest faculty member.
Laquatra has experience in the clinical, academic, and business fields, most recently serving as director of Global Nutrition for the H. J. Heinz Company. She earned her graduate degrees in nutrition from Pennsylvania State University. After completing her Ph.D., she was a postdoctoral fellow in preventive cardiology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
As a licensed dietitian nutritionist, Laquatra has received awards and honors from the dietetics profession, including the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Outstanding Dietitian of Pennsylvania Award and the Medallion Award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Laquatra’s areas of interest include nutrition counseling, nutrition and eating behaviors of consumers, and international nutrition.
