In collaboration with the Lively Arts at IUP, the Indiana Cares Campaign is bringing Pittsburgh’s Renaissance City Choirs to campus for a one-night-only performance at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013, in Gorell Recital Hall, Sutton Hall.
The Renaissance City Choirs is Southwestern Pennsylvania's only LGBTQ choral group. The men’s and women’s choirs as well as a mixed choir will perform “Love and Our Families,” a musical celebration of family through the eyes of the LGBTQ community. The concert features songs by Eric Lane Barnes, James Mulholland, Jonathan Larson, and more.
The group strives to promote a positive image and contribute to the cultural life of the tri-state area. The choir's diverse repertoire includes contemporary and traditional music, commissioned works, and music from various world cultures.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. To order tickets, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or contact the HUB Box Office at 724-357-1313.
This special performance by the Renaissance City Choirs celebrates the 10th annual Indiana LGBT Film Festival, which will again run on Sunday evenings in October.
