Eileen Glisan coauthored the article “Oral Proficiency Standards and Foreign Language Teacher Candidates: Current Findings and Future Research Directions” in the summer 2013 issue of Foreign Language Annals.
The article presents an analysis of six years of data on the oral proficiency levels of foreign language teacher candidates in light of national expectations and standards for beginning language teachers. Suggestions for a future research agenda needed in this area are outlined.
