Sarah Neusius, professor of Anthropology, was elected to a two-year term as president of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology (SPA) at the society’s annual business meeting held on April 20, 2013, in Uniontown, Pa.
Neusius is a life member of this society, which she originally joined in 1987, and has served as its first vice president for the past year.
The SPA was organized in 1929 in order to promote the scientific study and conservation of Pennsylvania’s archaeological resources, disseminate archaeological knowledge, and foster exchange between professional and avocational archaeologists. There are 18 active local chapters of the society operating throughout the state. The society publishes the journal Pennsylvania Archaeologist.
