She is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and was also recently elected to the IUP Co-Op board.
Rachel was elected president of the IUP Chapter of PCMEA in her freshman year. At present there are 35 members, making it one of the largest contingents at the recent PCMEA conference held in Erie, Pa.
Rachel first expressed a passion for music education in the seventh grade, when she decided she wanted to be a music teacher. In addition to performing with a local brass quintet—the Resolution Brass—Rachel works in the summers giving private lessons in piano and guitar and as a certified lifeguard.
