The senior Geoscience majors will present their independent research projects at the 39th annual Geoscience Day, Friday May 3, 2013. This event showcases the work the students have done over the past year on their research projects.
The schedule includes talks by 13 students on subjects ranging from local stream water quality to craters on Mars. All are welcome to come for all or part of the student presentations.
Geoscience Day celebrations culminate with alumni guest speaker Scott McCallum (’00). Scott is currently a production geologist with EQT and will be speaking on the subject of “Regional Sequence Stratigraphic Interpretation of the Marcellus Shale.”
All presentations will take place in the IUP Planetarium, Weyandt Hall, room 134 and will run from 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. (full schedule)
