Projects by Professor Cynthia Zidek, Professor Edith West, and Professor Michele Crytzer, Department of Nursing, have been accepted for podium presentations at the Worldwide Nursing Conference (WNC), to be held in Singapore on July 8 and 9, 2013.
The WNC, organized by the Global Science and Technology Forum (GSTF), aims to explore advances in nursing practice, management and education in relation to health disparities as well as a breadth of other topics. Through networking and sharing, WNC will provide an opportunity for nursing practitioners and educators to exchange research evidence, models of best practice and innovative ideas.
Zidek and West developed a constructivist theory designed simulation activity whereby three student groups created a complex client simulation scenario in the community that improved student critical thinking, confidence, clinical judgment, and performance. Their project is titled, "An Innovative Approach to Complex Client Simulation in Community Health."
Zidek, West, and Crytzer did a research study with the senior-level community health students entitled, "Effectiveness of ReadyPA Emergency Preparedness Program in Rural Western Pennsylvania in the Event of a Prolonged Power Failure."
