Jon Lewis, Geoscience Department, has been chosen as this year’s College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics recipient of the IUP Research Institute Outstanding Researcher Award. Lewis has recently published articles on three different research projects and received funding from the National Science Foundation.
The publications cover a range of topics: mapping active faults in Costa Rica, understanding great earthquakes offshore SW Japan, and characterizing tectonic collision in western Taiwan.
The recent NSF award will support a new project in southern Taiwan.
