Obie-winning playwright Caridad Svich’s new play, Spark, will be given a reading Friday, November 9, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. in Waller Hall’s Studio Theater. Admission is free.
The event is part of a grass-roots nationwide reading of the play scheduled to coincide with Veterans Day and the presidential election. Spark is a play about three sisters, one of whom is a war veteran, living in a poor area of the U.S. and caught in a recent war’s aftermath. Svich’s production alliance, NoPassport, seeks to use the reading as an occasion to honor veterans of wars recent and past, as well as to shed light on the stories of female veterans.
