Krys Kaniasty of the Department of Psychology just published “Predicting Social Psychological Well-Being Following Trauma: The Role of Postdisaster Social Support” in Psychological Trauma.

the results of a longitudinal study that documented that dissatisfaction with aid received, interpersonal and community animosities, and disagreements experienced within the first months after a severe flood were later associated with survivors’ lower levels of perceived social support, more doubts about benevolence of people, and a greater tendency to withdraw from social interactions.
