Members of Phi Gamma Nu and the Management Association volunteered their time at the 2011 Indiana County Heart Walk.
The September 24 Heart Walk raised $40,508 for heart disease and stroke. The students helped the day of the event and with the set-up the night before. Three students dressed up as heart-healthy fruit.
Richard Widdowson of the Management Association and Graig Fisher of PGN coordinated the Eberly College effort.
“The Heart Walk was a wonderful experience for both of our organizations,” Widdowson said. “We were glad to be a part of such a great cause. It was a perfect opportunity for our organizations to give back to the community and get involved. In the future, we hope that both of our organizations can continue to work together with the American Heart Association.”
The donations are used to fund research for the American Heart Association including pediatric heart and stroke research.
