Betty Makoni was one of CNN’s 2009 Top Ten Heroes for her work in defending and empowering girl rape victims in her native Zimbabwe.
Ms. Makoni will be at IUP on Friday, September 23, 2011, to give two lectures that are free and open to the public.
The location of the first lecture has been changed, as noted below.
1:25–2:15 p.m., now in Room 136 of Keith Hall. There she will address the economic impact of the HIV/AIDS crisis, as well as the economic implications of the sexual abuse and lack of education of girls in African countries.
