Dr. Elizabeth Kincade, chair of the Counseling Center at IUP, will discuss her new book, Feminist Therapy: Strategies for Social and Individual Change, on Friday, April 22, 2011, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in Uhler Hall, Room 116.
Although feminist therapy is often considered a newcomer to the field of clinical practice, its has a long history with roots in feminist philosophy and theory. From its inception, feminist therapy has incorporated psychology of women and gender, well-established psychotherapeutic techniques, multicultural awareness, and social action in a coherent, theoretical, and therapeutic package.
