The Spring 2011 Foreign Film and Music Series will continue February 13, 2011, with Belgian film A Town Called Panic. Musical guests will be Kate Duncan on vocals and Terry Barnett on guitar.
A Town Called Panic, in French with English subtitles, tells the story of three plastic toys, Cowboy, Indian, and Horse. When Cowboy and Indian plan to surprise Horse for his birthday but instead destroy his house, an adventure begins. They travel to the center of the Earth only to discover a parallel universe filled with creatures made of paper-mâché.
Sponsored and organized by the Office of International Education, the series will provide film showings every other Sunday through April 10 in McVitty Auditorium, Sprowls Hall, on the IUP campus. Shows will be at 5:30 and 8:00 p.m., with live music preceding each movie screening. All films and musical performances are free and open to the community.
