Dr. Kathryn Bonach and Dr. J. Beth Mabry of the Department of Sociology, with alumna Candice Potts-Henry, published “Nonoffending Caregiver Satisfaction with a Children’s Advocacy Center.”
The article was accepted into the Journal of Child Sexual Abuse in August 2010 and then “invited” to be included in the December special issue: “Forensic, Cultural, and Systems Issues in Child Sexual Abuse Cases – Part 2: Research and Practitioner Issues.”
Guest editors of the special issue were Dr. Amy C. Tishelman, a clinical psychologist who has a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School and is director of Research and Training in the Child Protection Program at Children’s Hospital Boston, and Dr. Robert Geffner, founder and president of the Family Violence and Sexual Assault Institute, president of Alliant International University’s Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma, and clinical research professor at the California School of Professional Psychology, all in San Diego, Calif.
This article is the culmination of work done with Candice Potts-Henry, an IUP McNair Scholar during her time at IUP.
