The public and students of IUP are welcome to participate, along with students in Dr. Steve Hovan's Oceans and Atmospheres course, in a live video conference with scientists, technicians, and crew on board the scientific drilling vessel JOIDES Resolution in the Pacific Ocean.
The sixty-minute live video conference will enable participants to find out about the current research expedition to the Cascadia Margin off the coast of British Columbia, as well as careers in the ocean sciences and life at sea. This video conference is coordinated by the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program's (IODP) Deep Earth Academy and the Geoscience Department at IUP.
This event will take place in Beard Auditorium, Stouffer Hall, on the IUP Campus on Thursday, September 16, at 7:00 p.m.
